Scadding Township, East Wahnapitae, Ontario
This area, located near the Scadding tailings site was examined briefly and found to contain disseminated sulphides in Nipissing Diabase as well as quartz veins. As mentioned in the June 4, 2010 Press Release, a grab sample of loose sulphide bearing quartz found on site showed visible gold and assayed:
In the fall of 2010, the contact zone between the Nipissing Diabase and the Felsic Intrusive where the quartz veins seems to occur was stripped, mapped and sampled. Stripping exposed several subhorizontal quartz veins. Numerous specks of visible gold were noted in this freshly exposed quartz vein, and even more were found during the channel sampling.
Work in the summer of 2011 on the property will likely involve mapping the contact along its strike length to determine the extent of the gold bearing quartz veining. As well, there is a gold bearing vein within the Nipissing 300m north of the Glade Showing that was excavated for its gold, located within the Nipissing Diabase. This area requires more, extensive work. The adjacent contact felsic albititic intrusive is being further studied for its potential role in the gold mineralization.
