Scadding Township, East Wahnapitae, Ontario
The East Jerome Showing appears to be a magmatic segregation of pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite and Platinum Group Elements (PGEs) located in Nipissing Diabase on the east rim of the Wahnapitae Crater.
Work conducted by Trueclaim during 2010 on this showing included localized mapping, stripping and assaying. Six samples (as seen below) demonstrate anomalous gold, copper, platinum and palladium values:
In addition, the main outcrop showing was tightly gridded and readings of both magnetic susceptibility and a portable XRF were conducted over the mineralized zone. It appears that the magnetism increases towards the contact between the Gowganda Formation and the Nipissing Diabase. This could allow us to trace the contact using magnetics and determine where more embayment structures could occur.
Below is the map produced from the magnetic readings. The contact between the Nipissing Diabase and the Gowganda Formation is towards the north-west.
In the late fall of 2010, a grid was cut on the Jerome Property. IP and magnetic surveys were run across the grid. Three targets were followed up with drilling and 2 drill holes were put in the main showing area.
